Why is recording calls on iPhone so hard?
Apple does not give apps access to the audio of a phone call. That is why there is no App Store "call recorder" that simply works in the background, the way Android apps once did. What does exist:
- Apple's built-in recording (iOS 18.1 and later). It works — but you tap it on every call, it never records incoming calls on its own, and both parties hear a spoken "this call is being recorded". Recordings land in the Notes app, not in a customer card.
- Recorder apps (TapeACall and the like). They work around the limit with a three-way call: the app dials the vendor's number and merges it into your call. You start it every time, sometimes from a different number, and your audio passes through a foreign server.
- A separate recorder device (such as PLAUD). Clip it to the phone, switch it on, and it records what it can hear near the phone. Again — you have to remember, and charge it.
For a business taking dozens of calls a day, "remember to press" is exactly what does not work.
How Haro records on iPhone — with no app
Haro does not record on the phone. It records on the phone line, at the mobile carrier. The call passes through the network, and that is where it is captured — before it even reaches the handset.
In practice:
- Connect once. Either you are a Hot Mobile business subscriber (we help port your number), or we add a Haro eSIM to your iPhone and you stay with your current carrier. Your number does not change.
- Call as usual. No app has to be open, nothing to press. Incoming, outgoing, even calls that arrived while the phone was off — all recorded.
- Get the result. Within about a minute there is a Hebrew transcript (with who-said-what), then a summary, tasks and meetings. Everything is filed under the customer's card, in the app and on the web.

Who it is for
- An insurance agent taking dozens of calls a day with details that keep changing — who wants every call filed under the policyholder automatically.
- A lawyer for whom every small detail in a client call can matter — who wants to go back to exactly what was said.
- A contractor working in areas with poor coverage — for whom even a call that never showed on the phone still shows up in Haro.
"I work a lot in areas with no coverage, and even when a call doesn't show up on my phone, it's immediately there in Haro. Being able to search a call by what was said in it saves me on a regular basis." — Ness Elbaz, tree-trimming contractor
What it costs

Frequently asked questions
Yes. Recording is not done on the phone but on the line, so the model and iOS version do not matter. The eSIM route needs a dual-SIM iPhone — every model since 2018 (iPhone XS/XR).
Yes. Hot Mobile business subscribers connect their business line directly. On any other carrier we add a Haro eSIM as a second line and your number works through it — no number change.
No. Haro records regular phone calls that travel over the mobile network. WhatsApp, FaceTime and Zoom calls do not go through the phone line, so they are not recorded.
Yes. A party to a call may record it under Israeli law (Wiretapping Law, 1979) without the other party's consent. Since 2026, businesses that sell by phone are also required to record — see our page on Amendment 73. This is general information, not legal advice.
No. Your number stays exactly as it is.
Basic 250 ₪/month, Pro 350 ₪, Premium 400 ₪ (+VAT). Hot Mobile customers pay less. If you stay on another carrier, the Haro eSIM adds 51 ₪/month. No commitment.
